composer and flutist
Joshua Hahn has been presented as a composer by Boston Musica Viva, Juventas, Transient Canvas, and Antico Moderno, and as a composer-flutist by Da Camera of Houston, Nonevent, Foundation for Modern Music, and more. His solo guitar piece, Lullaby, was awarded first prize for solo string composition by Massachusetts String Teachers Association in 2015.
Josh works in research development for Virginia Commonwealth University. He serves on the board of Castle of Our Skins, an ensemble dedicated to celebrating Black artistry.
Joshua received an MM in composition from Rice University and a BA summa cum laude in music from Tufts University. His teachers have included Shih-hui Chen, Anthony Brandt, and John McDonald. His music theory scholarship has been published by Music Theory Online, a journal of the Society for Music Theory.
